Piyush Surana is VP - Private Equity at Gulf Islamic Investments (GII) leading private equity transactions in the GCC market, with exposure to Indian and European investments as well. Before joining GII, Piyush spent over a decade in the Indian startup ecosystem, both as an operator and as an investor. He has served in leadership roles across prominent and successful consumer- tech startups such as Uber, Ola, and Zomato.
Subsequently, he worked as a Principal at Tomorrow Capital, an early-stage consumer fund based in Mumbai, for five years. During this time, he served on the boards of successful investments like Leverage Edu and Bonito Designs, collaborating with prominent early-stage investors in the country.
Piyush is an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad. After graduating with the batch of 2008, he started his career with industry leaders Indus Towers and Fortis Healthcare. With over 15 years of experience in handling growing businesses and working with industry leaders, Piyush has developed valuable insight into the factors that contribute to their success.
