Algal Tech, Inc. is the result of over 20 years of research and development by an interdisciplinary team from the USA and Mexico. This team, with expertise in marine biology, plant physiology, biotechnology, nutrition, bacteriology, aquaculture, engineering, marketing, corporate finance, and management, has successfully domesticated a species of algae called Aonori (Ulva clathrata). Aonori, whether fresh or dried, is now utilized as a high-nutritional-value food source for human consumption and animal feed. Over the past decade, Algal Tech has developed and optimized a Controlled Environment Aeroponic (CEA) system specifically for cultivating Aonori. This innovative system makes Algal Tech the only organization globally that grows seaweed using such technology. The production process is eco-friendly, with zero use of fresh water, no fertile land requirement, no negative environmental impact, and it acts as a CO2 sink. Additionally, no pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, or fungicides are used, ensuring high product quality. Algal Tech is establishing a niche market with this new product by offering a more balanced nutritional composition. Aonori is rich in protein (25%), soluble fiber (23%), minerals (20%), vitamins, and antioxidants, making it a highly nutritious supplement. Its clean label, mild umami flavor, and health-promoting benefits make it ideal for enhancing the nutritional profile of new and existing products. The company will focus on producing dry flakes and powder formats of Aonori in a B2B model, targeting nutraceutical and wellness product companies.
