Stamatis Diavatidis, born in Athens in 1972, is the Co-Founder and CEO of farmAIr, an AgTech company focused on Plant Stress Management, particularly in the early and accurate detection of biotic and abiotic plant stress. With a strong background in Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, and Capital Markets, Stamatis has over 25 years of experience in C-level positions across various industries, including FinTech, BioTech, Shipping, and Media. In 2020, he entered the AgTech sector, co-founding farmAIr to contribute to sustainable agriculture by balancing global food security with environmental stewardship amid the climate crisis. Under Stamatis's leadership, farmAIr has gained significant recognition, becoming an alumnus of prestigious acceleration programs such as Plug and Play’s AgTech Batch 6 and EIT Food Seedbed 2023. The company has won multiple awards, including top honors at Bayer's LifeHub BCN demo day and the GreenTech Challenge. FarmAIr’s innovative technology, which utilizes thermal and optical cameras powered by AI and Machine Learning, has been tested and validated in large-scale agricultural settings, including Grupa Top Farms in Poland and Grand Farm in North Dakota. FarmAIr’s cutting-edge technology is at the forefront of crop protection, offering early detection of plant stress at a leaf level, long before symptoms appear. The company's solutions are designed for direct use by growers, other AgTech companies, and agricultural input providers. FarmAIr’s work has already benefited 31 paying customers by helping them secure their annual production, increase yield, and reduce costs, thereby contributing to sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation. Currently, farmAIr is in the process of raising €1 million in seed funding to further develop and expand its innovative solutions.
